Scuds — freshwater shrimps — are 
one of the most abundant food 
sources in Nordic rivers and lakes. 
Fish eat them constantly, all season 
long, whether anything is hatching 
or not.

The Scud Pupa imitates this crustacean 
perfectly — the curved body, the legs, 
the segmentation. Fish it dead drift 
along the bottom, through weed beds 
and in the slack water behind rocks 
where scuds congregate.

An essential pattern for any serious 
Nordic fly fisher. Particularly deadly 
for large brown trout in slow clear 
water.
